Regional Safety Director

Van Pool Transportation LLC is seeking a highly experienced Regional Safety Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for championing and implementing our Safety Program across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial passenger transportation safety, education, and training. You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our Senior Vice President of Operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and safety performance standards are achieved and upheld.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, directing, and leading the implementation and execution of the Safety Program, vehicle crash and work-related injury loss reduction plans, and behavioral awareness/regulatory compliance programs.
  • Monitoring and analyzing issues and emerging trends that impact driver safety and workplace injuries across all region operations.
  • Providing immediate and ongoing leadership to regional operations staff with crash/injury/crisis response and investigations.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective business relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement.
  • Completing on-site and virtual inspections, audits, and reporting responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in critical thinking skill development, significant experience in commercial passenger transportation safety, education, and training, and previous success providing direction, guidance, and coaching to drivers and operational staff.

Preferred qualifications include advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, transportation-related software, and telematics, as well as previous success in supporting regulatory audits and investigations.
