About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Works Supervisor - Highways to join our team working on the Yorkshire / North Midlands project of works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Surfacing matters on behalf of Tarmac to clients, ensuring objectives and targets are achieved.
  • Manage teams on site to support commercial results and successfully manage challenge processes.
  • Deputise for the Works Manager in their absence.
  • Ensure compliance with Tarmac's Policies and Procedures through regular Employee Engagements.
  • Carry out site briefings, ensure procedures are adhered to, and report back on any failures.
  • Supervise works on site, including subcontractors, ensuring CDM regulations are met.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and raise awareness of Safety Observations.
  • Assist in managing requirements of 'O License', vehicle check sheets, and liaison with Drivers.
  • Oversee external works, assist in managing those works, and prepare Job Briefing Packs.
  • Ensure all time, plant, and material sheets are completed and forwarded to the commercial team for payment.
  • Identify future lifecycle schemes and provide details of scheme requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience in Highways / Surfacing Maintenance at a supervisory level.
  • Knowledge of on-site Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing leadership in the role.
  • Good communications skills to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels.
  • A certificate in Site Safety Management, CSCS card, and SMSTS certificate are highly beneficial.
