Job Title: Consultant Adult Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Adult Psychiatrist to join our team at Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for overseeing the Acute Inpatient ward in Bodmin and providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing patients in an inpatient setting and will be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the clinical workload within the ward areas, including professional supervision to junior medical staff, and will support the education and training of junior medical staff.

The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician (RC) for patients admitted to the unit and will participate in service and business planning activity for the adult services. You will also be expected to attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise and leadership skills. As a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and to contribute to the development of mental health services in Cornwall.

Person Specification
  • Recognised Medical Degree
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Inclusion (or eligibility for inclusion) on the Specialist Register or a Specialty Trainee within 6 months of gaining CCT
  • Eligibility for Section 12 and AC Approval
  • Relevant Higher Degree e.g., MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
  • Completion of Clinical and Educational Supervisor Training
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £99,532 to £131,964 per annum, plus on-call allowances. The post is permanent and we offer flexible working arrangements, including full-time, part-time, job share, and flexible working.

We are an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
