Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer to join our dedicated Student Services Team at the EFI. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students, providing front-line advice, guidance, and referrals to other services within and beyond the Student Services Team.
Key Responsibilities- Support and safeguard students, including acting as a designated safeguarding lead and providing pastoral care.
- Provide responsive advice, guidance, and referrals to other services within and beyond the Student Services Team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional student support experience.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of safeguarding and wellbeing policies and procedures.
We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of operating in a similar role in a similar environment. You will have a Safeguarding qualification or be willing to undertake this. You will also have a comprehensive understanding of pastoral care issues and support measures, as well as effective boundary management skills.
You will have an understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, and equality and diversity issues as they relate to this role. Good knowledge of learner needs and issues facing young people is essential. You will also have good organisational, planning, time management, and administrative skills, as well as good literacy and numeracy skills.
You will have the ability to communicate with confidence with a wide range of people and the ability to listen with understanding and relate to social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties in a manner that will enhance students' self-esteem.
You will have the ability to build rapport quickly with learners and colleagues, develop positive, cooperative, and effective working relationships, and be a role model for appropriate and aspirational behaviours for learners.
You will have a commitment to and passion for the development and progression of all learners, as well as a flexible, resilient, and positive attitude.
