About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our development team at Strategic Imperatives. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in building and delivering cutting-edge cloud native solutions that drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Requirements: Understand and question the underlying business goals and requirements to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams through whiteboarding and pair programming sessions to drive innovation and knowledge sharing.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and customers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Code Quality: Produce clean, well-documented code and practice merciless refactoring supported by unit and acceptance testing.
  • Software Delivery: Deliver high-quality software through design, development, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Software Maintenance: Refactor, troubleshoot, and upgrade existing software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Feedback and Growth: Offer and receive constructive feedback with a growth mindset to drive personal and team growth.
  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development to drive innovation.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge and expertise through sessions and documentation to drive team success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously find ways to improve processes, systems, and software to drive business value.
Requirements
  • Experience: Must have experience in delivering scalable, fully tested cloud native solutions, particularly with AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS).
  • Technical Skills: Strong functional programming skills in Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Git, and OpenAPI.
  • Test-Driven Development: Proficiency with test-driven development (TDD) to ensure high-quality code.
Desirable Skills
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform to manage infrastructure as code.
  • CI/CD and DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices, including Kubernetes.
  • Automation Tools: Experience with Selenium and/or Cucumber for automation.
