Role: Environmental Manager - Solar & Battery

Location: Southeast Area - Travel required to various sites as and when needed

Duration: Initial 6-Month Contract + Possible Extension

Rates: £500 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella

Carbon60 is seeking a skilled Environmental Manager to support the development of large onshore solar and battery storage projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that environmental management and sustainability considerations are integrated into every stage of the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing environmental requirements for large onshore solar and battery construction projects, while supporting our sustainability goals and action plans.
  • Reviewing EIA/ER chapters, preparing and owning Construction Environmental Management Plans, and providing support to project Sustainability Action Plans.
  • Managing environmental surveys and monitoring work, including scope of works associated with environmental contracts and contractors.
  • Carrying out regular site environmental audits and inspections, and preparing audit reports.
  • Investigating environmental hazards and incidents, ensuring prevention of further harm, and finding resolutions.

Located in the Southeast of England (Reading area) and willing to travel to sites where required, you will be part of a collaborative team that prioritizes sustainability practices and promotes inclusive working environments.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience in environmental management and delivery for large construction projects, including a broad knowledge of environmental legislation and policy.
  • Commercial aptitude and a broad understanding of project development and construction pressures, including contractor management.
  • Experience of environmental auditing and inspections, in a construction environment.
  • Commitment to being a team player who prioritizes collaboration and promotes inclusive working practices, with good awareness of sustainability practices.
