**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit and Collections Analyst to join our Finance department in Rochester. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining an assigned accounts portfolio, communicating with customers, identifying bad debt and financial exposure risk, and performing collection-related tasks.

  • Monitor and maintain an assigned accounts portfolio, ensuring timely payment and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding billing and general inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
  • Identify and mitigate bad debt and financial exposure risk, taking proactive measures to prevent losses.
  • Perform collection-related tasks for accounts with past-due receivable balances, working closely with customers to resolve issues.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and cash application-related tasks, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Reduce accounts receivable aging and delinquency for assigned accounts, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable, credit, discrepancies, and issue resolution, providing valuable insights for the team.
  • Review and process pending orders and account adjustments within Credit department policy guidelines, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Interact with customers and internal partners to analyze and resolve disputed items, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with sales and management to expedite collections and issue resolution processes, ensuring seamless communication and resolution.
  • Assist in the financial analysis, credit underwriting, and approval process for new accounts, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Recommend and prepare severely delinquent accounts for external collection proceedings, taking a proactive approach to minimize losses.

**Requirements**

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Outlook.
  • Highly detailed-oriented, organized, and able to perform job functions with high accuracy.
  • Familiarity with obtaining and analyzing credit reports is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, with a focus on accounts receivable and credit management.
  • Effective negotiating and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal partners.
  • Reliable daily transportation to branch location.

**Work Environment/Physical Demands**

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting, with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

**Education**

  • Associate degree preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related area is preferred.
  • A combination of experience and education resulting in a moderate understanding of credit/collections is required.
