Job Description:

The Recruitment Co is seeking a skilled individual to fill the role of Facilities Multi Skilled operative. This position requires a hands-on approach, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned maintenance tasks as scheduled, including waste management, flushing of little used outlets, emergency lighting tests, and other assigned duties.
  • Respond promptly to reactive repairs, demonstrating a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Conduct minor building fabric repairs and modifications, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Perform decorating tasks, basic plumbing, and carpentry as required.
  • Participate in general office cleaning and janitorial duties as needed.
  • Support external landscaping and cleaning activities as requested.
  • Assist with ad hoc porterage duties, including moves and changes, furniture management, and stock control.

Requirements:

  • Excellent physical fitness, with good dexterity and manual handling ability.
  • Able to work comfortably at heights and in demanding environments.
  • Strong communication skills, with a focus on providing excellent customer service to building occupants.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned work orders, adhering to health and safety policies.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including holidays and sickness absence coverage.
  • Ability to identify and select correct materials and tools for each task.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in building maintenance, handyperson, and janitorial duties.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to maintenance and building management.
  • Confident, driven, and pro-active individual who can do the job right first time.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development opportunities.
