About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geriatrician to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Geriatric Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert medical care to patients with complex geriatric needs
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Contribute to the development of our service, including quality improvement initiatives and education programs
- Participate in on-call commitments and acute hospital sessions
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of care and effective communication
Requirements
- Geriatric Medicine experience within the NHS
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to make patient management decisions and seek guidance when needed
- Leadership skills and experience of teaching
- Full GMC Registration and Specialist Registration or willingness to obtain within six months
