Job Title: Head of Procurement and Commercial

We are seeking an experienced Head of Procurement and Commercial to join our client, a leading private sector consultancy, in Manchester. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the transformation of the procurement function, driving strategic procurement activity, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the transformation of the procurement function, taking it from a tactical to a strategic operation
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to drive cost savings, improved efficiencies, and successful negotiations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams
  • Manage and undertake high-value, high-risk, or strategically important procurement projects
  • Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and drive commercial acumen within the business
Requirements:
  • Proven experience of leading strategic procurement activity in a regulated environment
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering savings, improved efficiencies, and successful negotiations
  • Natural, motivational leader with strong interpersonal skills and experience in developing teams
  • Demonstrable experience managing and undertaking high-value, high-risk, or strategically important public or private sector procurement projects
What We Offer:
  • Base salary of £65,000 to £70,000
  • Private medical cover
  • 5% matched pension contribution
  • 25 days holiday
  • Hybrid working, 2-3 days on site to begin with, reducing to 1-2 after circa 6 months
