Salary Range: £5,332 per annum plus additional incident call out payments at £16.54 per hour

Work Location: Botley Fire Station

Hours per week: Minimum of 35 on-call hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

The Role:

An on-call firefighter is a paid employee who responds to emergencies and engages with the community. They have everyday lives until their pager sounds, then they become professional firefighters.

This role is not just about fighting fires; it involves a wide range of situations, including community fire safety, flooding, co-responding, road accidents, and chemical spills.

As an on-call firefighter, you will form close working relationships with the team and have the opportunity to make a real contribution to the community.

You will receive thorough training and learn about emergency situations, as well as additional personal skills.

Requirements:

To be eligible, you must work and/or live within 4 minutes of the Fire Station. Physical fitness is essential, as you must be able to reach the station quickly and safely after being alerted to an incident.
