This hospital provides a specialist inpatient service for males with severe and enduring mental health conditions, who may also have an undiagnosed memory-related illness. Our client also provides a specialist neuro-cognitive and dementia care service for males presenting with very agitated or aggressive behaviour.

To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current active NMC Pin.

As the Deputy Ward Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Ward Manager in providing day-to-day management and supervision of the ward
  • Assisting the Ward Manager in providing management and supervision of a team of registered and unregistered staff
  • Implementing best practice across the ward
  • Supporting changes within the service
  • Responsible for the clinical direction of the service
  • Supporting the delivery of personalised care and contributing to service improvement

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in delivering and receiving supervision
  • Ability to access and prioritise clinical situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to assess and prioritise clinical situations
  • Effective management of communication between medical and nursing staff

The successful Deputy Ward Manager will receive a competitive salary of £39,847 per annum, plus a range of benefits including a £4,000 welcome bonus, enhanced maternity pay, and access to development opportunities.
