About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Residential Children's Services Team Leader to join our management team at Leaving Care Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of support workers and providing direct support to young people in our care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Keyworker: Provide key support to a number of young people, helping them to achieve their aspirations and become independent.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of support workers, providing regular individual and group supervisions to ensure high-quality care.
  • Representation: Represent the service positively to young people, their families, and partner agencies, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Out of Hours Duty: Contribute to our Out of Hours Duty Rota, ensuring the needs of young people are met at all times.
  • Staffing and Rotas: Prepare and manage staffing rotas, ensuring adequate cover in the event of staff absence or sickness.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to leading the team in delivering a safe and high-quality service, including chairing regular team meetings and promoting a positive, child-centered culture.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Write, assess, and review Initial Needs and Support Plans, Risk Assessments, and Critical Incident Reports.
  • Deputy Operations Manager: Deputize for the Operations Manager as required, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Communication and Advocacy: Communicate effectively with young people, their parents/carers, and partner agencies, advocating on their behalf when necessary.
  • Community Links: Maintain positive relationships with the community, supporting young people to access education, employment, and volunteering opportunities.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience: Have experience working with young people affected by trauma and loss, as well as challenging behavior and mental health issues.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrate excellent leadership skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Relationship Building: Possess good skills in building relationships and keeping young people at the center of service thinking and planning.
  • Driving License: Hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.
