Company Overview: Amentum CMSI is a leading provider of design and engineering services for major projects. As part of our Programme and Project Partners (PPP) arrangement with Sellafield, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Birchwood, Warrington.

The PPP portfolio involves delivering £7bn worth of major projects, site-wide improvements, and provision of supporting services. Our Nuclear team provides front-end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio, driving change and innovation in engineering, safety, and delivery solutions at one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK.

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on a wide range of projects, including designing and developing mechanical systems, planning and coordinating engineering activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. If you have a passion for engineering and a strong background in AutoCAD Inventor, we would love to hear from you

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement mechanical design solutions that meet client requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical system failures to optimize performance
  • Maintain high levels of quality and safety standards in all aspects of work


Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a nuclear or similar industry
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor and other relevant software tools


Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
