Agricultural Commodities Procurement Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) as an Agricultural Commodities Procurement Specialist. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, taking ownership of a diverse range of agricultural commodities related spend.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create category and sourcing strategies to identify market opportunities and develop the company offering.
  2. Performance and contract management of existing suppliers across agricultural commodities related spend.
  3. Select, award, and onboard new suppliers - negotiate on commercials to deliver the best value for the company.
  4. Develop and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders/suppliers to collaborate and deliver cost savings on agricultural commodities related spend.
  5. Ensure sourcing strategies and tender outcomes are maximizing commercial success and value.
  6. Assess and mitigate commodity risk, monitor market trends, and devise strategies with the supply base to reduce issues moving forward.

Requirements:

  • Strong commercial acumen and end-to-end direct procurement experience within Food & Beverages / Agricultural Commodities.
  • Demonstrable experience focused on strategic sourcing or category management.
  • Strong commercial acumen & negotiation skills, strong communicator, and the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders/suppliers.
  • Ability to achieve cost savings against volatile / changing market conditions (commodities).
  • Procurement experience at a strategic level and demonstrable experience of running tenders.
