Job Title: Library & Academic Affairs Assistant – Part-Time for Jan-Apr Term

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to support our Library and Academic Affairs team. As a part-time Library Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the library is a welcoming space for all users. With a positive mindset, you will actively contribute to an efficient and student-centred library service.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Librarian to provide front-line library services, assisting students and faculty with literature searches and responding to queries. You will also be responsible for providing basic maintenance of the library's resources and supporting the Academic Affairs team with general administration, data entry, and preparing welcome packs for new students.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist students and faculty with literature searches using online and printed resources.
  2. Respond to queries received in-person, via email, and phone.
  3. Provide basic maintenance of the library's resources.
  4. Support the Academic Affairs team with general administration, data entry, and preparing welcome packs for new students.

Requirements:
  • A flexible approach to the role and ability to work evenings.
  • Experience of front-line library services, working with a wide range of service users.
  • An empathetic approach to students, and ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with key stakeholders in the library.
  • The ability to plan, manage workloads, organize, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (pro rata)
