Job Summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Associate Director of Nursing to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our nursing services and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drive the care group programme for patient flow across the inpatient wards, ensuring seamless transitions and efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with Care Group Directors of Nursing to implement patient experience initiatives, coordinate local patient satisfaction surveys, and develop action plans to address shortfalls.
  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure high standards of care for patients and their families, as evidenced through key performance indicators.
  • Lead nursing teams across the Care Group, ensuring appropriate structures are in place to support nurses in delivering care to patients and their families.
  • Provide nursing leadership on human resource issues, including workforce planning, professional development, clinical leadership, supervision, appraisal, and retention and recruitment strategy.
  • Promote and maintain an evidence-based practice culture for nursing staff, ensuring representation at local, regional, and national networks, and disseminating best practices.

Person Specification
  • Evidence of further academic/personal development, current NMC registration, and postgraduate certification or Master's degree in nursing, healthcare, or management.
  • 5 years of nursing experience at a senior level, including experience in an acute hospital setting, with evidence of leadership, management, and specialty development.
  • Ability to operate at a strategic level, maintain an up-to-date understanding of operational issues, and set priorities to achieve service objectives.
