Senior Anaesthetics Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetic Nurse / ODP to join our team at Cromwell Hospital. As a Senior Anaesthetics Practitioner, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in our main adult theatre.
Key Responsibilities- Assist consultants during surgical procedures, providing support and expertise as required.
- Prepare patients for clinical and operative procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the Anaesthetic Team Leader, ensuring the smooth operation of the theatre suite.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels between team members, promoting a cohesive and collaborative working environment.
- Participate in multi-professional development, audits, and quality initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
- Support the development and training of junior staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.
- Contribute to the recruitment, selection, and retention of staff, working closely with the Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses, Matron, and Human Resources Department.
- Ensure that staff attend and participate in mandatory training sessions, maintaining accurate records of these.
- Be proactive in risk assessment, management, clinical incident reporting, and complaint management.
- Relevant ODP / Anaesthetic Nurse qualification.
- Post-registration experience within Anaesthetics.
- Ability to deliver high standards of care.
- 2 years post-qualification experience.
- Experience of working in private sector (desirable).
