About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's growing start-up organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Engineering Director, CTO, and other engineers to develop and test concepts for the microwave reactor and other key subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Engineering Director, CTO, and other engineers to design and develop innovative solutions for the microwave reactor and other key subsystems.
  • Create CHD models for containerised production systems, ensuring accurate specifications and compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Perform mechanical stress calculations to guarantee the correct specifications and safety of the systems.
  • Liaise with vendors to source materials and equipment.
  • Manage technicians to assist with mechanical fitting of components, generating work instructions as needed.
  • Ensure designs and built systems/components meet relevant legislation and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or HNC/HND qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an engineering design environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment developing first-of-a-kind technology.
  • Experience with relevant software packages for drawings creation and management, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience generating CE/UKCA files.
  • Previous experience working with Hydrogen or other flammable gases in an ATEX/Ex environment.
