Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Departmental Supervisor to assist the Section Manager in the inspection, maintenance, and renewal of assets to standards and within agreed resource levels, budget, and unit cost measures. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing staff as directed.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Asset Inspection and Maintenance
    Supervise and check the quality of work delivered to ensure assets meet standards.
  2. Compliance and Adherence
    Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  3. Inspection and Renewal
    Undertake specific inspections in accordance with standards as directed, identifying areas for improvement and proposing asset renewals.
  4. Staff Management
    Assist in the management, control, and discipline of staff as directed, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  5. Staff Surveillance and Quality Control
    Undertake a programme of staff surveillance, work quality, compliance, and asset condition checks as directed, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  6. Knowledge and Experience
    Possess knowledge of resource and work organisation/planning processes and systems, as well as experience in rail testing, lubrication inspection, maintenance, renewal, and asset condition assessment techniques.
  7. Communication and Teamwork
    Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  8. Qualifications and Training
    Ideally hold (or be working towards) an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge gained through equivalent relevant experience.
