We are seeking a skilled Electrical Calibration Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems. This exciting role will involve performing high-end calibrations and repairs on a wide range of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.

About the Role

In this senior engineer position, you will be responsible for delivering specific on-the-job training to our ICS Electrical team members and apprentices/graduates. You will also deputize for the ICS Electrical team leader whenever required, including people and resource management, workflow management, and workload sign-off.

Additionally, you will write and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets. You will take part in quality audits, achieving UKAS signatory status, and communicate professionally with technical stakeholders on instrumentation/calibration topics.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need experience working in a precision electrical calibration/metrology laboratory environment. You should have a good understanding of quality systems and standards, such as ISO 17025 and ISO 9001. A relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent) is also essential.

Achieving UKAS signatory status for electrical calibration is highly desirable, as is experience in creating measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level. Familiarity with automation software, such as Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, and Labview, is also beneficial.
