Pulmonologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to join our Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) service within the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The ILD service is a specialist centre, recognised by NHS England since 2017, and has a high volume of referrals, with approximately 1,400 new patients each year. The post-holder will work as part of a team of Chest Physicians within Thoracic Services, providing expert care to patients with a variety of lung diseases.

• Assist with recruiting patients to clinical trials, tissue banking, and research methodology.
• Contribute to the development of research projects and submit work for national and international meetings in Thoracic Medicine.
• Participate in the consultant of the week rota, covering referrals, phoneline queries, and caring for ILD inpatients.
• Share responsibility for the training of specialty trainees, clinical fellows, and medical students in Respiratory Medicine.
