Job Summary

We are seeking skilled Assembly Technicians to join our production team at Morson Talent. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the production of high-profile military projects, working on the manufacture, assembly, and build of specialist projects using engineering drawings and associated design data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture, assemble, and build specialist projects to meet business and customer expectations.
  • Support Production Managers and Team Leaders to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standard.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, to create complex assemblies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out within allocated timeframes and to the required quality standards.
  • Understand and work to configuration control processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant work area, adhering to Health and Safety management systems.
  • Identify and report any equipment or tooling required to support production processes.
  • Attend and contribute to production meetings as required.
  • Complete daily timesheets and provide accurate records of work completed.
Requirements
  • Mechanical, fitting, or joining experience is essential.
  • Previous experience in automotive or heavy industry is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications in Vehicle Body Building, Mechanical Fitting, or equivalent trade are highly beneficial.
  • Competent skills in assembly processes and techniques, with the ability to communicate effectively within a team.
  • Familiarity with a workshop environment and understanding of production methods and processes.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and associated design data, with a competent understanding of planning methods and skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Completed a City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent in Vehicle Body Building, Mechanical Fitting, Manufacturing, and Assembly Qualification.
  • Understanding of Appraisals/PDR's and semi-skilled candidates with manufacturing/production experience will be considered.
