Role Summary

The Project Procurement Specialist will work closely with the Procurement Manager and the project teams to thoroughly understand the project procurement requirements, including the procurement strategy and schedule, and be responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services necessary to help deliver projects. Additionally, build and maintain strong relationships with our supply chain partners, ensuring adherence to the key principles of procurement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend tender handover meetings.
  • Identify available sourcing options and propose & agree the approved suppliers for all project packages.
  • Provide insights on current market conditions, including material and equipment availability and lead times.
  • Advise the project team on what predicted discount value can be taken off quoted items.
  • Attend validation meetings & demonstrate value added by procurement.
  • Review opportunities to consolidate materials orders across multiple projects with suppliers for cost saving.
  • Understand the specific delivery requirements for each project and inform the supply chain of these requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to gain better negotiation leverage and secure favourable terms.
  • Ensure the correct subcontract order process and procedure has been adhered to.
  • Check the subcontract documents and professional services agreements for completeness.
  • Ensure all relevant technical and commercial clauses are included on the purchase order before issuing.

Requirements:

  • A proven background in an M&E purchasing role.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Strong numeric and analytical skills.
  • Thorough with a good attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages.
