Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware solutions for our clients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of digital and analogue electronics and firmware for products from concept to production, with a focus on FPGA VHDL.
  • System Architecture: Develop system architectural designs and concepts, ensuring they meet the required specifications and requirements.
  • Design Tools: Utilize Altium Designer CAD tool for schematic and board layout, and other relevant design tools to support the design process.
  • Prototype Development: Build, test, and fault-find prototypes to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Requirements Capture: Capture and document specifications and requirements for hardware designs.
  • Hands-on Experience: Possess hands-on experience with soldering, fault-finding, and other relevant hardware design skills.
  • Compliance Support: Provide support for EMC and electrical safety compliance, including cost model generation and ROHS analysis.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee junior engineers and provide guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Design Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in digital and analogue design, with a strong background in embedded programming and FPGA VHDL.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in C, C++,.NET, C#, Java, Python, or algorithm development, with a strong understanding of software development principles.
  • CAD Tools: Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout, with a preference for Altium Designer.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of EMC compliance design techniques, safety and EMC standards, and the ability to work with accompanying equipment to test sites.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve successful project outcomes.
