About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Costs Draftsperson/Lawyer to join our specialist legal costs team in Liverpool. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing an effective costs service to our Serious Injury Practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and Reviewing Bills of Costs: You will be responsible for drafting and reviewing Bills of Costs, including Precedent S Electronic Bills, N260's, Schedules for JSM, and Precedent H Cost budgets using costmaster.
  • Issuing Notices and Documents: You will oversee the issuing of the Notice of Commencement and associated documents.
  • Budget Negotiations: You will deal with budget negotiations and provide technical advice to fee earners.
  • Preparing Precedent R and Precedent T Documents: You will prepare Precedent R and Precedent T documents.
  • Providing Technical Advice: You will provide appropriate technical advice to fee earners.
  • Negotiating and Agreeing Costs: You will negotiate and agree costs with paying party solicitors.
  • Liaising with Fee Earners: You will liaise with fee earners on the progress of their cases.
  • Preparing Points of Reply: You will prepare Points of reply.
  • Preparing Matters for Provisional Assessment/Detailed Assessment: You will prepare matters for provisional assessment/detailed assessment.
  • Financial Targets: You will ensure financial targets are met.
  • Team Development: You will manage and support the development of team members, promoting continuous learning and improvement of skills as part of normal duties.
