Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Physics Surveyor to join our team at Caithness Voluntary Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting large area surveys to monitor radiological particles on various beaches along the Caithness coastline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct large area surveys to monitor radiological particles on various beaches along the Caithness coastline.
  • Complete required documentation and radiological survey reports.
  • Drive and tow survey vehicles.
  • Monitor using backpack or hand wheeled detectors.
  • Recover, package, and transport any finds safely back to site.
  • Work flexible hours to suit tides and project objectives.
  • Maintain and ensure that vehicles and monitoring equipment are in good working order.
  • Train and mentor new recruits.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year's experience as a Health Physics Surveyor.
  • Full driving license.
  • Comfortable working in a harsh environment.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Flexible start and finish times.
Profile:
  • Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications:
  • Maths, English, Science at Scottish National 5 level or equivalent.
  • Recognized Health Physics qualification.
  • Basic Radiation Awareness training.
