Senior Data Product Engineer

Terry Parris Associates is a leading developer of clean energy technology, dedicated to enabling companies to decarbonize at scale and pace. Our team of experts specializes in advanced multi-domain computational modelling, data analysis, and creates bespoke data products and cloud data platform solutions.

This role sits within the Modelling and Digitalisation department, consisting of highly skilled and dedicated modelling and simulation engineers, data scientists, and data engineers. As a Senior Data Product Engineer, you will enable and support the Data Product Team to design and deploy data applications built on our Azure Databricks platform, improving data accessibility, robustness, and connectivity, and driving data analytics and data-driven decisions across the business.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Owning data products throughout their entire lifecycle, from ideation and design to deployment, maintenance, and eventual deprecation.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for assigned data products, addressing technical and business needs.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to deliver high-value data products.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data product specifications.
  • Ensuring data products meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Several years of experience in data product development, or related fields, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions.
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Familiarity with scripting for automation and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with cloud-native data tools (e.g., Databricks, AWS Glue, Google Big Query).
  • Ability to interpret data for actionable insights and collaborate with analysts.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional Agile teams, collaborating closely with data engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
