About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at The Copse. As a Consultant, you will have the opportunity to lead a team, drive excellence, and make a real difference in the lives of individuals with enduring mental health problems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Liaise and collaborate with care co-ordinators, commissioners, families, and carers, as well as other services and agencies.
  • Implement the Mental Health Act and liaise with the Ministry of Justice as required.
  • Provide clinical leadership and governance of the hospital, overseeing the service user care pathway from assessment to discharge.
  • Participate in a two-tier on-call system, providing cover for other medical colleagues during leave and absences.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved Clinician status.
  • Experience in General Adult or rehabilitation settings, with a background in multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Experience in acute inpatient or community settings, with expertise in risk assessment and management.
