Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled and proactive Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our site's technical department, you'll be responsible for the proactive and reactive maintenance of our warehouse systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our maintenance system, Agility, to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the technical department to plan and execute maintenance activities, including instruction and supervision of mechanics/operators.
  • Optimize technical processes and advise on modifications and improvements.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and ordering, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Work with suppliers to efficiently handle failures and repairs.
  • Support mechanics with complex overhauls and manage mechanic and operator scheduling.
  • Analyze disruptions and set out actions in Agility.
  • Participate in daily handovers and work closely with other departments for timely and correct coordination of actions.
  • Report unsafe situations, risks, and near-accidents using the correct procedure.
  • Adhere to applicable procedures and instructions, including food safety, HACCP, Health and Safety, Environment, and Quality.

Requirements

  • Qualified NVQ level 3 or equivalent with mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Willingness to learn and improve skills.
  • Ability to drive and travel to site.
  • Ability to work at height and in a cold environment.
  • Ability to work nights.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in mechanics, electrical engineering, and control engineering.
  • Knowledge of and experience with PLC and PC-controlled fully automatic logistic transport systems.
  • Strong analytical skills.
