We are seeking a highly skilled NDT Technician to join our Quality Assurance team at Aston Martin F1 Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our NDT processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage NDT Department Operations: Oversee the efficient management of the NDT department, ensuring timely delivery of quality parts and effective communication with the supply chain.
- Develop and Maintain Quality Standards: Introduce and maintain quality standards documentation, applicable to the NDT department, to ensure full compliance with quality requirements.
- Improve Communication and Collaboration: Enhance communication with Inspection, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Design Office teams to successfully deliver quality parts, ensuring all processes are carried out to the required standard.
- Manage Non-Conforming Components: Maintain accurate records of non-conforming components and support the supply chain in preventing reoccurrence through Quality Assurance activities.
- Support NDT Department's Role in AMF1's Racing Operations: Manage the NDT department's support of the preparation of parts for AMF1's race cars with NDT methods, including Ultrasonic Inspection, Eddy Current Inspection, MPI Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection, and Visual Inspection.
- Travel and Collaboration: Be available to travel as required to fulfill the requirements of the role.
- Professional Development: Maintain and develop skill levels to aerospace standard and maintain a current and thorough working knowledge of NDT methods.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties reasonably requested aligned to your job role.
- Quality Assurance and Control: Possess an excellent working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
- NDT Techniques and Software: Possess a thorough understanding of NDT techniques and software.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience as NDT head or similar in a Formula One environment or high-level Motorsport environment would be advantageous.
- MRP/ERP Systems: Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or similar.
- Microsoft Office: Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- NDT Qualification: Hold a minimum Level 2 NDT Qualification (EN4179/PCN).
- NDT Methods: Be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of A-Scan and Phased Array Ultrasonic Inspection, both handheld and immersion, and Eddy current.
- Additional Skills: Knowledge of X-Ray and CT scan would be advantageous. Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales and be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Communication and Teamwork: Ability to convey NDT findings effectively and confidently to the design and stress teams and back up your results with facts. To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
- Results-Oriented and Decision-Making: Be results-oriented and be confident in your decision-making skills under pressure both at the AMRTC and trackside.
- Health and Safety: Demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
