About the Role

The Financial Reporting Leader will oversee the accounting team, ensuring all day-to-day accounting tasks and activities are completed efficiently. Key responsibilities include managing the month-end financial close process, leading local statutory audits, and streamlining processes within the accounting department.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to share broad financial knowledge and strong communication skills, as you will be responsible for presenting financial reports across multiple legal entities operating in various countries.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and improve department controls, systems, and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee the INEOS Group reporting via internal systems.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare variance analysis and monthly results for presentation at month-end review meetings.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end processes within finance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, including fixed assets, revenue, COGs, and stock classification.
  • Review the Intercompany process and reporting, guiding the team on improvements and clearing mismatches.
  • Lead the completion of annual statutory accounts and filing of annual corporation tax returns and computations.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely closing and reporting at year-end.
  • Contribute to systems development strategy and enhancement requirements, providing input on new developments.
  • Develop staff through performance management, goal setting, ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA, or relevant degree).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing a transactional team.
  • Experience in key areas of accounting responsibility, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement development.
  • Good understanding of financial controls.
  • Good systems knowledge, specifically a good working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and persuasive skills.
  • Logical thinking and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and take ownership of delivery to deadlines.

What We Offer

An estimated salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, reflecting the company's commitment to compensating employees fairly for their expertise and dedication.
