Consultant Physician in Sports and Exercise Medicine

At the OrthTeam Centre, we are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Physician in Sports and Exercise Medicine to join our esteemed team on a part-time basis.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience as a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine, demonstrating advanced knowledge in sports illness and injury prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

This role will involve the opportunity to deliver comprehensive care to patients and athletes, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of sports-related injuries and illnesses, while also promoting overall physical health and performance.

This position is integral to our collaborative environment, working closely with consultants and allied healthcare professionals within an elite setting.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous professional development, staying at the forefront of advancements in sports medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care to patients and athletes
  • Prevent, diagnose, and manage sports-related injuries and illnesses
  • Work closely with consultants and allied healthcare professionals
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in sports medicine

Requirements:

  • MBChB
  • Specialist Register for SEM (with GMC)
  • FFSEM (UK) or equivalent
  • Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation with GMC (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports medicine at Consultant level
  • Experience in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine
  • Experience in Female Athlete Medicine
  • Experience in the diagnosis and management of complex sports injuries and medical conditions
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
