About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pavement Engineer to join our Asset Management team at Connect Plus Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our asset management strategy to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance and renewal of our pavement assets.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the management and maintenance of our National Highways Pavement Management System (HAPMS), including network referencing, construction updates, and reporting for inclusion in our Asset Management Forward plan.
  • Collecting and managing highway inventory asset data using HD video and uploading it into our Asset Management systems, Agile assets/CONFIRM databases.
  • Identifying and scoping maintenance, renewal, and improvement projects to address pavement issues.
  • Assisting with the management of technical inspections and machine surveys, including planning of survey routes, assessment and monitoring of programs, evaluation of completed surveys, and identifying missing or incomplete data.
  • Providing input into the production of our asset management forward planning for road traffic signs to continuously improve our 30-year program and demonstrate the management of condition.
  • Identifying and embracing change, promoting innovations, and identifying potential improvement funding opportunities weighted against National Highways Value Management principles and Contract Change Impact.
  • Working closely with commercial and financial business areas to provide technical support and help the wider business understand the impact of third-party additional works and network improvement schemes on our pavement assets.

About You

We are looking for a qualified and experienced individual who possesses:

  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Progression towards or membership of a relevant Professional Institute (e.g., ICE, CIHT, or equivalent).
  • Strong management of pavement assets and familiarity with pavement design standards in accordance with the DMRB, MCHW.
  • General understanding of pavement operations, maintenance, and renewal, and RWSC.
  • Skilled in MS Office applications.
  • A general understanding and exposure to real-time Asset databases, with a willingness to apply skills to new and evolving Asset Management Systems and Tools (Agile).

Personal Attributes

We are seeking a capable communicator and active team member with a methodical and structured approach, who is available to be placed on the call-out register and able to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

About Us

Connect Plus Services is a joint venture project with Balfour Beatty, AtkinsRéalis, and Egis, operating and maintaining the M25. We require careful and efficient planning of work to deliver over £100m of annual investment in the highway infrastructure each year, in addition to planned and reactive maintenance activity.

Working on the M25 will give you experience and challenge that no other highways project can offer.
