Content Producer for Live News Events

The Associated Press seeks two skilled content producers to join its global live video team in London. Reporting to the news editor for live video, you will work collaboratively with an editorial team to deliver high-quality live news events to AP's global customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a schedule of live news events, ensuring timely delivery of critical information to AP's customers.
  • Activate and deactivate breaking and scheduled news feeds, selecting the most relevant aspects of a story to convey.
  • Create engaging descriptions for live news feeds, highlighting upcoming and ongoing events, as well as their terms of use.
  • Communicate effectively with AP's global customers through various channels, addressing editorial and service delivery questions.
  • Troubleshoot technical delivery issues by collaborating with internal and external support teams.
  • Select and curate live video content and other visual materials for archiving purposes.

This role requires adaptability, as the live producer position is evolving alongside AP's product delivery and production processes. You must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to meet coverage demands, given AP's 24/7 operation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Authorization to work in the U.K. is mandatory.
  • Advanced-level proficiency in written and spoken English; proficiency in another language is a plus.
