Careers Coach for Adults with Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Careers Coach to join our team at Daybreak Centres. As a Careers Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with learning disabilities into employment, self-employment, and volunteering.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop skills, provide training, volunteering, and work experience placements to achieve real work outcomes for our clients. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including Local Authorities, Health & Social Care teams, Job Centre Plus, National Careers Services, Schools/Colleges, and local employers, to access suitable work-experience and employment opportunities.
You will advise on work placements and employment opportunities, prepare clients through job search, application, and interview stages, and provide mentoring and support for clients who are volunteering. Additionally, you will provide in-work facilitation for clients who have progressed to employment and offer guidance on DWP's in-work benefits and services.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure Client Safeguarding in line with Journey's Safeguarding Policy and the Care Act 2014.
- Work within Health and Safety guidelines and follow safe working practices.
- Be an ambassador for Daybreak Centres and uphold our values with all stakeholders.
- Work as part of the Daybreak Centres team and contribute to team and whole-staff meetings as required.
- Undertake training as required by the Organisation.
- Career experience and/or qualification in a relevant discipline.
- English and Maths Level 4+/5.
- Disability-specialist training e.g. positive behaviour support, person-centred practice, autism awareness, Makaton, BSL.
- Current UK driving licence and access to transportation for the role.
- Confident IT skills including Windows, Microsoft 365, Adobe, web Chat Forums, Video Conference Calling, and social media.
We offer a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum, along with a contributory pension scheme, a healthcare package, and other benefits. Our working hours are 08.30 – 16.30 from Monday – Thursdays and 08.30 – 16.00 on Fridays.
