We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at an SEN School in Kidderminster. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalized assistance to students with special educational needs. Your primary responsibility will be to offer tailored support to help students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing individualized learning plans to promote student engagement and independence.
  • Maintaining regular communication with parents, carers, and outside professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to students to help them manage their behavior and develop social skills.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and delivery to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.

Our SEN School is a specialist all-through school based in Kidderminster, supporting students with a range of complex learning needs. We maintain a nurturing environment where young people can achieve their full potential, ensuring that they are heard, respected, and involved in decisions that affect them. Our school creates a home-like atmosphere to ensure a smooth transition for students and offers a mix of classroom and outdoor learning opportunities.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting, especially with those who have special needs. Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care, or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desirable but not essential. You will also need to be able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
