Job Title: Professor of Biology
Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Professor of Biology to join our faculty team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Professor of Biology, you will play a key role in teaching and mentoring students in the life sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction for day and evening classes in biology, including General Biology I and II, Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II, and Microbiology.
- Responsible for student assessment and grading, maintaining accurate records of student progress, and submitting final grade rosters to division administrators.
- Provide timely communication with students, staff, and administrators, and maintain an adequate on-campus presence.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Biology, with 18 credits in the Biology major area of study or master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Biology from a regionally accredited institution.
- Passion for the discipline and commitment to a student-centered philosophy in support of academic excellence for diverse groups of learners.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in communication with students, colleagues, staff, and administrators.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Community college teaching experience, with a proven track record of developing and delivering effective instruction.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using instructional technologies and learning management systems, with the ability to enhance teaching and the educational experience.
