Road Surfacing Apprentice

Job Overview:

At DYWICH, we are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Road Surfacing Apprentice. As part of this 2-year training program, you will gain hands-on experience in road maintenance and construction, working alongside experienced operatives and learning from them.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in the road surfacing industry. You will be responsible for performing various tasks, including manual placement of asphalt materials, operating plant equipment, and assisting with daily pre-use checks on equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a Surfacing squad, undertaking road maintenance, road and footway surfacing, and other ancillary activities.
• Perform banksman duties for items of plant and delivery vehicles.
• Manual placement of asphalt materials, including shovelling, barrowing, and raking.
• Operate items of plant, such as pavers, rollers, tractors, etc., and hand-held items like saws and breakers.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified driver (optional).
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Genuine interest in the road surfacing field.
• Versatile, flexible, and accommodating worker.
• Trustworthy, friendly, timely, and reliable.
