Job Summary:

The School Attorney will provide legal guidance and support to the District Superintendent and administrative staff on various matters, including student issues, personnel matters, contracts, employee relations, grievances, data security, leases, and business-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day legal guidance on all matters to the District Superintendent and administrative staff.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures at Questar III.
  • Research, interpret, and write school policies based on NYS laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from a nationally accredited law school.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience with complex legal issues, involving education law, civil service, and labor/employment law.
  • Two years of leadership and/or management experience with a proven record of results.
  • Admitted to the Bar to practice law in New York State.
