Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Construction Cost Manager to join our client’s team in Croydon. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary of up to £55,000 and a company car.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to maximize profitability and minimize financial risk. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Agreeing Final Accounts: Ensuring timely completion of final accounts after all works have been finished.
  2. Managing Variations: Controlling any project variations and agreeing them with the client.
  3. Retention Release: Monitoring and applying for retention releases.
  4. Profit Maximization: Focusing on maximizing profitability throughout the project life cycle.
  5. Cost Planning: Providing commercial management and cost planning services from project initiation to completion.
  6. Quotation Preparation: Reviewing costs, preparing quotations, and issuing them to clients.
  7. Sales Team Liaison: Collaborating with the sales team to provide consultation and guidance on project feasibility.
  8. Risk Management: Identifying and reporting project risks to ensure proactive mitigation.
  9. Dispute Resolution: Advising on dispute resolution strategies.
  10. Commercial Matters: Liaising with the operations team on commercial issues.
  11. Interim Valuations: Submitting interim valuations and payment assessments within set timeframes.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. Minimum HNC: Holding a minimum HNC in a construction-related subject.
  2. Computer Literacy: Being proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  3. Construction Experience: Having at least 5+ years of experience in construction or a related industry.
  4. Data Confidentiality: Understanding the importance of data confidentiality.
  5. Leadership Skills: Possessing leadership qualities and being able to lead by example.
  6. Adaptability: Being adaptable with a “can-do” attitude.
  7. Teamwork: Demonstrating strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  8. Systematic Approach: Following processes systematically.
  9. Data Analysis: Performing data analysis.
