As part of our continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Faculty - Life Skills to join our close-knit team at The Greater Horseshoe School, part of Acorn Education.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Life Skills faculty, responsible for raising standards of pupil attainment and achievement within the faculty. The successful candidate will be accountable for pupil progress and outcomes, ensuring the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils studying in the department across all Key Stages.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and support pupil progress through liaising with the Academic Intervention Co-ordinators as appropriate.
- Complete a termly audit of homework across the school, to assess the frequency and quality of homework set.
- Deliver weekly assemblies and weekly student council meetings.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant honours degree and QTS, with knowledge of recent developments in learning and teaching. A reflective practitioner who consistently seeks to improve their teaching to support learning and accelerate student progress is essential. Previous experience of working in an SEN environment is highly desirable.
