Principal Building Control Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Control Inspector to join our team at Michael Page (UK). As a key member of our Building Control department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building regulations and enforcing relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Manage the day-to-day control of building work within the district, ensuring compliance with building regulations and ancillary legislation.
- Lead Contact for Complex Projects: Serve as the lead contact for major/complex projects, coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring timely completion.
- Plan Examination and Site Inspections: Conduct thorough examinations of plans and site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations.
- Enforcement and Compliance: Process plans and notices, prepare notices, and pass/reject plans within statutory time limitations.
- Liaison and Communication: Correspond with various stakeholders, including architects, surveyors, engineers, agents, and contractors, to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
- Investigations and Inspections: Conduct investigations and inspections of alleged breaches of building regulations, gathering evidence and attending court hearings as necessary.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and concise records of site inspections, telephone conversations, meetings, and emails.
- Marketing and Promotion: Assist in promoting the Building Control function and disseminating changing regulatory requirements through information leaflets, guidance documents, and the group's website.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered Building Control Inspector with Class 2 and above qualifications. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
