Document Controller Job Description

Murphy is seeking a skilled Document Controller to join our award-winning Energy team on the SSE ASTI Framework in Alness. As a Document Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth management of construction documentation and supporting our team in delivering projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE, and Ørsted.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date construction documentation, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and timescales.
  • Coordinate the creation, review, and distribution of documents, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Develop and implement document control procedures, ensuring effective management of document revisions, obsolete documents, and superseded documents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination of document-related activities.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of distribution lists, workflows, and review cycles.
  • Support the management of change by ensuring documents are processed correctly and linked to contract documents as required.
  • Contribute to the collation and issue of handover documentation, including O&M manuals, H&S files, as-built records, and datebooks.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a professional Administration and/or Document Control department.
  • Knowledge and experience of operating IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems, such as Aconex and ProjectWise.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in the Infrastructure/Civil/Engineering/Construction industry.
