Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join our Defence projects team at Fuel Recruitment Limited.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of electronic systems and components for Defence applications.
  • Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify potential design risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and account for Bills of Materials (BOM) for all projects.
  • Design and conduct tests for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Create detailed design specifications, schematics, and layout documentation using Altium Designer.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Oversee the prototyping, assembly, and troubleshooting of electronic systems.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant Defence standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.
  • Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and technical discussions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Utilize programming languages such as C/C++ for embedded systems development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience as an Electronic Design Engineer, with a strong background in Defence or similarly highly regulated environments.
  • Proficiency in electronic design tools such as Altium Designer.
  • Strong understanding of circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with DFMEA and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Expertise in designing tests for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and standards to electronic designs.
