Job Summary:
The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the general areas of civil, structural, or infrastructure engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, teach courses related to civil engineering, and contribute to the operation and promotion of the university and the profession.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an externally funded research program leading to national and international recognition
- Teach courses related to civil engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Participate in WPI's signature project-based curriculum
- Contribute to the operation and promotion of the university and the profession
Requirements:
Qualified applicants should have a strong background in one or more areas of structures, intelligent transportation, and autonomous construction. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in multiscale computational modeling, robotics, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other similar research tools.
