About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Colchester. As a Specialist SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and delivering tailored support for students with SEMH needs.
- Work closely with teachers to monitor and assess student progress.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, addressing their individual needs.
- Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
- Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to professional development and learning.
