A dynamic opportunity exists for a skilled occupational therapist to join the NHS team in South Monmouthshire, focusing on rehabilitation and community care. This position involves working in a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement personalized rehabilitation programs for individuals requiring continued care after hospitalization but not yet ready to return home.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work closely with a band 4 OT technician, Severn View Park staff, reablement, and the wider MDT in Severn View Park residential home to deliver rehabilitation services and enable individuals to live independently.
  • To develop tailored rehabilitation programs to support individuals in maximizing their independence and occupational performance.
  • To contribute to the delivery of reablement training to staff to ensure a rehabilitative approach during an individual's stay and maximize independence.

The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously, setting priorities and supervising junior staff and/or students as needed. A post-graduate degree in Occupational Therapy is required, along with specific training in clinical areas such as manual handling, seating and positioning, advanced communication skills, cognitive assessment, and motivational interviewing.
