Substance Abuse Recovery Specialist

Salary:

£30,000 - £40,000 per annum

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Substance Abuse Recovery Specialist to join our team at Caley Court Resource Centre.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver a safe and effective treatment and care service for complex drug and alcohol dependent clients across North Ayrshire.
• Support the wider NADARS Health and Social Care team, including prescribing staff, to promote attendance at regular reviews with their prescriber.
• Offer practical support to senior staff within the team to safely deliver recovery interventions, Injecting Equipment Provision (IEP) service, and work in conjunction with partner agencies and peer workers.
• Provide addiction-related support, advice, and information to clients, family, and carers, as well as partner agencies, as part of the NADARS duty system.

Requirements:

• A professional qualification at Higher National Certificate level or equivalent experience in a relevant area, such as health, social care, or drug and alcohol studies.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent understanding of drug/alcohol use and associated issues.
• Information Technology skills.
• Experience working in an addiction-related environment and community setting are desirable.
• Ability to deliver presentations and training is also desirable.

Working Hours:

37 hours per week, including evenings and weekends if required.

Fixed Term/Secondment:

This role is fixed-term until 31st March 2026.

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A UK driving licence/car ownership is essential for this role.
