Job Description:

We are working with one of the UK's largest and most successful Surface & Highways Companies to source a skilled and proven HGV Mechanic for their Hitchin location.

Job Overview:

As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's mixed and specialist fleet. This will include servicing, break testing, MOT's, repairs, welding & fabrication work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs
  • Conduct break testing and MOTs
  • Carry out welding and fabrication work
  • Work with a flexible approach to ensure the fleet is in a fit and serviceable condition
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems

Requirements:

  • Proven working ability in an HGV Mechanic role
  • NVQ in a relevant engineering discipline (highly desirable)
  • Flexible approach to working hours and conditions
